Amazon.com Hands-On Review Somewhere around four or five months, babies start to tune in more intently to the world around them. Meanwhile, those leg muscles just keep developing. Suddenly, lying around on a mat or sitting in a bouncy seat just doesn't cut it anymore. The Evenflo Classic Johnny Jump Up is, indeed, a classic. Your bouncing baby boy (or girl) will truly start bouncing! Who says exercise can't be fun? Just slide baby into the padded seat, making sure only his toes can touch the floor. He will immediately sense the spring action and start pushing off with his toes. Instant entertainment! Build on Baby's Milestones In addition to being a source of exercise and almost endless amusement, the Johnny Jump Up also contributes to the development of several important milestones. Gross Motor Skills The legs are pumping, the arms are waving, the head is bobbing
baby doesn't know it, but he's working on his gross motor skills. Figuring out how to use those large muscles, then practicing and building their strength, is a key step in baby's development. Next thing you know, he'll be running and jumping and throwing balls! Cause and Effect "Hey, when I push down on the floor, I bounce! Let's see what happens when I push this way
or that
?" Okay, the Johnny Jump Up won't get your kid speaking full sentences, or even his first word (unless it's "Wheee!"), but this is the gist of his thought patterns once he settles into the seat. Cause and effect is a nifty concept that your child will experiment with for the rest of his life, from dropping food off the high chair tray (gravity!) to seeing what happens when he grabs a toy from his friend (she doesn't like that!) to discovering whether his parents really mean it when they say his high school curfew is 10:00 p.m. (oops! They do.). Balance and Coordination Being upright must feel strange at first to someone who has spent the first few months of life lying in someone's arms or in a crib. It's going to take some work to figure out how to keep upright (although the Johnny Jump Up won't let him flop over, of course) and going in the direction he wants to go. He's going to have to find the floor with his toes, push away, then find it again and again, all the while keeping his torso strong. Whether the Johnny Jump Up is springing up and down or front to back or side to side, baby will go along with it, keeping his balance all the while. Easy to Install After assembling the seat and attaching the toy loops, pull open the clamp arms and hook them over any doorway trim that meets the size requirements (wall thickness must be 3 to 6 inches, and the flat surface on top of molding must be at least inchand firmly attached. Do take these measurements seriously!). Slide baby into the padded seat, and watch his face light up as he discovers he has the power to make this thing move! Important Note to Parents Please don't let baby spin, swing, or sleep in the Johnny Jump Up, and read the instructions and warnings very carefully before using. --Emilie Coulter

Great Toy January 8, 2009 L. Kelley I bought this for my 6 month old daughter and she loves it. I was a bit skeptical about hanging my child from a doorway. But, to my surprise it is very sturdy. From the moment I put her in it she started jumping and has a great time. I highly recommend this product.
Good product for the price December 20, 2008 N. Moretto (San Francisco) This little jumper works very well for its intended purpose. Easy to set up and very flexible from the standpoint of where you can place it. The only slight complaint is that the two loops to hang toys from are not as well placed as they could be.
Cute Pink Jumper! December 19, 2008 Nina Barroso (San Bruno, California USA) My daughter loves her jumper! She's still trying to get the hang of it but once she gets going, she has lots of fun in it. I would recommend this product to a friend.
Great Toy November 30, 2008 Summer Kinard (Durham, NC USA) This toy is great! My son started playing in it from 3 months. At first he only twirled, but now, at four months, he loves to jump in it. He teeths on front rim, too! Very safe and well made jumpy seat. We did pad the door frame with a couple of rolled up blankets, though, because our son likes to swing outward when he jumps.
Excellent Product November 23, 2008 Elizabeth Williams (Charleston, IL USA) I highly recommend this product. I bought it for my friend's child. She loves to get in it and jump up and down. There are 2 setbacks of this product. You need a door frame or molding to hold the jumper up and getting the child into and out of the jumper can be difficult when the child is fussy or upset.
