Product Description What a great way to encourage baby's natural kicking motion! When baby touches or kicks the piano, music and sounds play as twinkling lights dance along to each song. Different settings help baby learn letters, animal names and sounds, shapes, colors, and numbers. And when baby is ready for concerts outside the crib, the keys play notes like a piano! Easy attach crib straps, on/off switch and volume control, and automatic shut-off.
Editorial Review Parents who responded to piano lessons by kicking the instrument may appreciate this toy as much as a baby will. Two ties hang it from the side of the crib, five "keys" on the soft cover conceal five buttons, and colored shapes above each "key" light up when they are hit or kicked. In one mode, the five "keys" play individually, like piano keys; in another, they play a medley of 10 tunes; in a third, they sound out animal names, numbers, and other concepts that are keyed to the pattern on the cover. The Kick 'n' Learn Piano includes an on/off switch, auto off, and high/low volume control. Requires three AA batteries. --Richard Farr

Still fun after 2 years! November 22, 2008 Ainsley's Mommy (Ohio) I purchased this toy for five dollars at a yard sale back in 2006 and it is still going strong! My daughter played with it almost daily in her crib as a baby and now at 2 1/2 she still likes to go into the nursery (now being prepared for her new baby brother) and play with it. We had a few other crib toys which were pretty much ignored in favor of this one. So overall it's a great toy, HOWEVER I would NOT pay the exhorbitant price currently being asked for this on here. It's great, but not worth more than maybe twenty-five bucks at the most!
great toy! September 26, 2008 J. Warren (Landenberg, PA USA) This is one of the few toys my daughter consistently plays with. She's not a baby any more, but she has CP and her feet work much better than her hands do. As another reviewer mentioned, the toy has four settings -- one continuous music, one individual notes, one that says "D" Dog, makes an amimal sound and then plays music, and the last just says the animal's name and sound without the music. My daughter prefers the third option. In fact, her favorite is B "Bear", which makes an adorable growl. After she kicks that one, my daughter will often then imitate the growl. I wish there were more toys that could be activated by foot!
Great toy from infant to toddler July 19, 2007 Squirrel Productions (Chicago, IL United States) Children from newborns to toddlers can "use" this toy. For newborns, the piano can play music for stimulation. As they get older, newborns can kick the piano when secured against a crib. As they become toddlers, children can use the piano on a floor or table and use their hands to "play piano."
Entertaining Baby Toy! October 4, 2006 History_of_Art_Geek (Phoenix, AZ) William loved the music, and colorful light show. The first night he played for 2-hours straight, and I wondered if he'd ever give it a rest. This toy is like the energizer bunny, it goes, and goes, and goes. For instance, when in Melody Mode, it would play for say 7-minutes, and if a key is pressed, it will start all over again. It could literally play for an hour. Then, there's the shock factor. Imagine, your sleeping child accidentally kicks a key. Unless you're sitting next to the crib, and you move fast enough to turn it off, the thing will play for 10-minutes straight. Hence, you either remember to turn the unit off when your child falls a sleep, or train your child to sleep through the noise. I have a problem with the first option, as it defeats the purpose of a crib toy. If I turned it off at night, my son couldn't play in the morning, because at 14-months he didn't have the motor skills to turn the dial to the "On" position. He later learned to use his teeth. A very resourceful child... The other problem I have in turning the unit off at night, is that he wouldn't play in the morning if I went to turn it "on" for him. Once he saw me, he was bouncing around to get out of the crib, rather than wanting to play with his crib toy. I wish it had a handle as well. William loved carrying his toys around the house, but this was awkward for a child to carry without a handle. The images don't embody the animals either. They are very stylized, and I didn't recognize number 2 until the key announced it was a bear. Now that's pretty lame for a "learning" toy. I loved the High/Low volume control. The Low volume was perfect for crib play, but too soft for floor play, so it was nice to have options. Another pro is that the keys are wide, and sensitive enough for little babies to recieve cause and effect. Once baby is kicking, and the piano is positioned low enough for them to reach, they will be able to make the music play, and the lights flash. It doesn't require a lot of strength to recieve result, on the other hand, it's not too sensitive that is goes off in the middle of the night when baby turns over. In the end, the Kick & Learn Piano held up well, and it entertained my son.
Not what I expected April 19, 2006 Troller Family (Miami, FL USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I expected an easy to kick toy for the crib so my son could work out his leg muscles and learn cause and effect. This was not the answer. It wasn't high enough for him to kick and he lost interest. The music was mediocre and he just didn't like it. I feel like this was a waste of money.
